Irene Zhang is a Managing Director and Global Head of Tax at Moelis & Company. Irene oversees the Firm’s global tax strategies and operations and is responsible for tax planning, reporting and compliance. Irene has over 20 years of experience as a senior tax advisor and strategic business partner to financial services firms and alternative asset management businesses.
Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Irene was with Ernst & Young’s M&A transaction tax practice where she advised private equity sponsors and corporate strategic investors on a variety of transactions, including M&A, divestitures, restructuring, fund formation and cross-border planning. She began her career in Deloitte & Touche’s Private Client Advisor group where she advised asset management funds and their general partners on tax reporting and planning. Irene holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and both an M.S. in Taxation and a B.B.A. in Accounting from the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
