Biography

Rick Polhemus is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, where he leads the U.S. Business Services franchise. Rick has over 25 years of investment banking experience, originating and executing transactions for growth companies throughout their corporate lifecycle, including M&A, leveraged buyouts, IPOs, and debt and equity capital raising. His Services industry expertise spans a range of subsectors, including environmental, infrastructure, industrial, utility, sustainability, and commercial services.

Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Rick was a Managing Director and Head of West Region Investment Banking at Morgan Stanley, where he led coverage of the environmental, industrial, and infrastructure services sectors, as well as several areas of energy transition and industrial technology, most notably electrification and grid modernization. Before that, he was a Managing Director in the Industrials and Technology Groups at J.P. Morgan, where he was instrumental in establishing the firm’s coverage efforts in the industrial growth and services sectors. Rick started his investment banking career at Hambrecht & Quist. He holds a B.A. in Economics from Pomona College and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
