Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Jeff was a Senior Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Secondaries at Manulife Investment Management, where he co-led a team focused on investing balance sheet and third-party capital in GP-led secondary market CVs. Over five years at Manulife, Jeff reviewed over 900 CV investments from more than 800 sponsors. Jeff was previously Co-Head of Houlihan Lokey’s Illiquid Financial Assets practice, one of the earliest and most innovative secondary advisory banking businesses, where he pioneered the use of CVs in GP-led secondary transactions to create liquidity for sponsors, LPs, and management teams. Prior to Houlihan Lokey, Jeff was a Senior Managing Director and Co-Head of Bear Stearns Asset Management’s secondary investing unit. After a 19-year career in the oil & gas industry with BP and, latterly, Premier Oil, he joined the Blue Circle cement group in 1997 with responsibility for Europe & Asia before being promoted to Group Chief Executive in 1999. Following a successful hostile bid defence, performance turnaround, and sale of the company, he led the rescue of Invensys as CEO, one of the world’s leading industrial controls companies at the time.
He has since served as Chairman of Ocado, Mastercard Inc., Centrica, Network Rail, QiO Technologies, and Railsr, as well as a Partner at Star Capital.
