Biography

Matthew Prest is a Managing Director and Head of Europe & APAC at Moelis & Company. Matt has over 25 years of financial restructuring experience advising companies, financial sponsors, secured lenders, and bondholders. Additionally, he has provided clients with other investment banking services, including raising debt and equity financing for distressed and non-distressed companies. He has performed key advisory roles in some of the most high-profile, sensitive, and complex situations in EMEA and Asia.

Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Matt was a Managing Director in the Corporate Finance Restructuring team at Close Brothers Corporate Finance. Before that, he was a Director of Restructuring at M&G Investment Management and a Senior Manager in the restructuring team at KPMG. Matt is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a B.A. in History from the University of Warwick.
