John Colella is a Managing Director and Global Head of Power & Utilities at Moelis & Company. John has been in the investment banking industry for over 25 years and has advised some of the largest global power and utility clients on critical strategic and capital raising transactions, including M&A, capital markets, restructuring, and bankruptcy transactions. His expertise in the energy sector includes electric, water, and gas utilities, as well as independent power producers and renewable energy companies.
Prior to joining Moelis & Company, John was a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan covering power and utility clients and a member of the Global Utilities Group at UBS Investment Bank. He holds a B.A. from Rutgers College and an M.B.A. from the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University, where he was a Park Leadership Fellow.

Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Joe was a member of the Power, Utilities & Renewables group at Wells Fargo, where he advised clients on a broad range of strategic transactions across the power and renewables sector. Prior to entering investment banking, he practiced as an attorney in the clean energy sector, advising on the development, financing, and acquisition of renewable energy projects. Joe holds an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.
Greg Gordon

Greg Gordon is a Senior Advisor at Moelis & Company, specializing in providing strategic advice to clients in the Power & Utilities sector. Greg has over 30 years of experience as a financial executive, including 26 years as a leading securities analyst covering U.S. power, utilities, and energy companies.
Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Greg served as Principal and Head of North America Utility Strategy at Zimmer Partners, where he led research coverage and stock selection for utility and energy infrastructure investments across portfolios exceeding $3 billion. Previously, he was a Senior Managing Director and Head of North American Power & Utilities Research at Evercore Partners. Before that, Greg held senior leadership positions at various financial institutions, including ISI Group, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and Oppenheimer. He has been consistently recognized as a top utility analyst by Institutional Investor throughout his career.
Greg currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Drew University, where he chairs the Investment Committee and is Vice Chair of the Finance Committee. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of Play Rugby USA, chairing its Finance Committee. Greg holds a B.A. in Economics from Drew University and is a CFA charterholder.
Philip Holder

Philip Holder is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, where he provides strategic advice to clients with a focus on the utility, financial sponsor, and clean technology sectors. Phil has nearly 20 years of experience across the energy, power, and utility industries as both an investment banker and operations professional, with deep expertise in M&A, restructuring, and corporate strategy.
Phil was previously the Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning at CenterPoint Energy, where he was responsible for corporate strategy, M&A, and financial planning, in addition to the company’s Energy Transition strategy. He previously spent over 15 years as an investment banker, where he provided a broad range of strategic advice on M&A and restructuring situations in the Power & Utilities sector, holding roles at Guggenheim, Citigroup, and UBS. Notably, he was the financial advisor to Governor Gavin Newsom regarding the establishment of the California State Wildfire Fund. Phil holds a B.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.
