Biography

Manisha Girotra is Chief Executive Officer of Moelis India. With more than 30 years of investment banking experience and extensive cross-border M&A expertise across a broad range of industries, Manisha has advised on over US$500 billion of mergers and acquisitions and equity and debt capital raisings.

Manisha has been named one of Fortune India’s “100 Most Powerful Women in Business” in 2025 and one of its “50 Most Powerful Women in Business” in both 2014 and 2015. Additionally, Business Today has recognized Manisha as one of the “25 Most Powerful Women in Business in India” for the past six years. She was also named one of The Wall Street Journal’s “50 Women to Watch.”

Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Manisha served as Chairperson and Country Head of UBS in India, where she oversaw its investment bank, commercial bank, markets, equity research, and wealth management divisions across London, Hong Kong, Mumbai, and Delhi. Before that, she was Head of North India at Barclays Bank after beginning her investment banking career at ANZ Grindlays in London. Manisha holds a degree in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and a Master’s degree from the Delhi School of Economics, where she was awarded the Dr. Manmohan Singh Gold Medal for academic excellence. She currently serves on the Global Boards of Naspers and Prosus, Mindspace Business Parks REIT, Sona BLW Precision Forgings Limited, and Asia Society India Centre. She also serves on the Boards of Udaiti Foundation and Neurology Foundation, and is a mentor for current and aspiring working women through Aspire For Her, a start-up aiming to introduce one million women into India’s workforce by 2025.
