J.T. Stephens is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, where he advises clients across the Front Office Software (Commerce Enablement, MarTech, SalesTech) and Consumer Internet sectors. He brings nearly 20 years of experience advising corporate clients on mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations and capital raising across both equity and debt markets.
Prior to joining Moelis & Company, J.T. was a Senior Managing Director in Technology Investment Banking at SVB Securities. Before that, he served as Managing Director and Head of Internet and Consumer Software, Americas at UBS. He was also a senior member of the Technology Investment Banking team at RBC Capital Markets. Earlier in his career, J.T. held leadership roles at Six Apart, a content management software platform, and at Overstock.com, an early pioneer in eCommerce. He began his career in Technology Investment Banking at Robertson Stephens.
He holds a B.A. in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley and an M.B.A. in Finance, Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
