Biography

Angus Whelchel is a Managing Director and Head of Private Capital Markets at Moelis & Company, where he focuses on the Firm’s public- and private-market origination and distribution capabilities. Angus has over 20 years of investment banking experience working with clients across industries and has helped raise more than $200 billion of private capital globally across debt and equity markets.

Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Angus served as Global Head of Private Capital Markets in New York and Head of Private Capital Markets for EMEA in London at Barclays. Earlier in his career, he held positions in the private placement market at Lehman Brothers and GE Capital. Angus holds a B.A. in Finance from the University of Vermont and an M.B.A from the College of William and Mary. He is also a CFA charterholder.
