Ping Chen is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, where he advises on both Asian and global cross-border transactions across all major industries. Mr. Chen has over 11 years of investment banking experience and has completed a number of high profile transactions including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, leveraged buyouts and restructurings. Prior to joining Moelis & Company in 2014, Mr. Chen was a Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Asia Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Previously, he was an Analyst in the Financial Institutions Group at Citi London and started his career in the Equity Capital Market Group at Morgan Stanley London.
Mr. Chen holds an MEng and a BEng, top of the 1st Class, in Electronic and Electrical Engineering with Management Studies from Imperial College London. He also holds an MEng in Financial Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
Bert Grisel is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company. Mr. Grisel has over 25 years of investment banking experience advising clients on restructuring, M&A and debt and equity financing. In Asia, he has been involved in the largest restructurings in the market such as Sino Forest and Kaisa. Mr. Grisel started his career at ABN AMRO where he spent 19 years and was most recently Head of Industrials and Real Estate in Asia. While at ABN AMRO, he also held other roles in Europe and Latin America. He has been in Hong Kong for over 11 years. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mr. Grisel was interim CFO of a NASDAQ-listed company.
Mr. Grisel holds a M.Sc. Law from The University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
Weihan Lee is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company, where he focuses on advising corporate and financial sponsor clients across the Asia-Pacific region. Mr. Lee has extensive experience executing a wide variety of corporate finance transactions in Asia, including mergers and acquisitions, private financing and equity capital markets deals, across all industries. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mr. Lee worked at Goldman Sachs on the Technology Media Telecom investment banking team, covering Asia ex-Japan. He also previously held roles at ABN AMRO and Credit Suisse First Boston.
Mr. Lee holds a M.A. in Law from Cambridge University, an M.Sc. in Management and Strategy from the London School of Economics, and an M.B.A. from Stanford University.
Richard Orders is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company. Mr. Orders has over 20 years of experience advising corporate clients across the Asia Pacific region and was most recently Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific Advisers (“APA”). He was previously a Managing Director in the RBS/ABN AMRO group in Asia Pacific and before that was Vice Chairman and Head of Global Clients Asia Pacific for ABN AMRO, where he worked since 1996. Prior to joining ABN AMRO, Mr. Orders was a Managing Director and Head of Barings Investment Banking in Asia. He has also worked for Barings in other roles within corporate finance and debt capital markets based in Australia and London.
Mr. Orders holds a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Oxford.
Anthony Root is a Senior Advisor at Moelis & Company Australia, based in Hong Kong. Mr. Root has over 30 years of experience advising corporations, underwriters and financial investors on public and private corporate financings, private equity, public mergers and acquisitions, restructurings and capital markets transactions. Before joining Moelis & Company, he was Asia Managing Partner at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy since 2001. Throughout his career, Mr. Root has advised on transactions throughout Asia, Australia, Europe and the United States across a variety of industries including financial institutions, technology, telecommunications and natural resources.
Mr. Root holds a B.A. with honors from Haverford College and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
Xiuping Zhang is a Managing Director at Moelis & Company. Ms. Zhang has over 19 years of investment banking experience and was most recently Managing Director and Head of Asia M&A at Merrill Lynch. Previously, she was Managing Director and Head of China M&A at Deutsche Bank. She started her banking career with JP Morgan in New York in 1997. Ms. Zhang has extensive experience advising Asian, European and American clients on cross-border mergers and acquisitions transactions.
Ms. Zhang holds a B.S. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and an M.B.A. from Rollins College.
