Moelis & Company Announces Andrew Shore has Joined as a Managing Director

Moelis & Company announced today that Andrew Shore has joined the firm as a Managing Director based in New York. Mr. Shore, who has over 20 years of investment banking and research experience, will lead the firm’s coverage of household and personal care companies and further expand its effort in the consumer and retail sector.
Mr. Shore joins from J.P. Morgan where he was most recently a Managing Director in the Global Consumer Products Group and built a leading franchise advising clients in the global household and personal care industries on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings and a broad range of financial advisory services. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Mr. Shore was a Managing Director in Deutsche Bank’s Consumer Products and Retail Group and previously an Institutional Investor-ranked Research Analyst and the Head of Deutsche Bank’s Global Consumer Products Strategy, which included analysis and portfolio construction of food, beverage, tobacco and household products stocks. Before Deutsche Bank, Mr. Shore was a Managing Director at both Paine Webber and Prudential Securities and began his career at Shearson Lehman Brothers.

Moelis & Company Announces Thane Carlston and William Derrough to Join as Managing Directors and Co-Heads of Restructuring Group

Moelis & Company announced today that Thane Carlston and William Derrough will join the firm in July as Managing Directors and Co-Heads of the firm’s Restructuring Group based in New York. Mr. Carlston and Mr. Derrough, who have worked together on restructuring transactions for over 17 years, were previously at Jefferies & Company where they built a leading restructuring practice as Co-Heads of the Recapitalization and Restructuring Group.
Mr. Carlston spent 10 years at Jefferies advising clients in a variety of industries on exchange offers, recapitalizations, restructurings, financings, and M&A transactions. Before joining Jefferies, he worked at Chanin and Company, a boutique investment banking firm specialized in providing restructuring advice.
Mr. Derrough also spent 10 years at Jefferies where he advised a wide spectrum of clients and investors on restructurings, recapitalizations, financings, mergers, and other engagements. Prior to joining Jefferies, Mr. Derrough was a Principal at Doyle & Boissiere, a private investment firm, and before this, worked at Chanin and Company and Salomon Brothers.

Moelis & Company Announces Edward Eppler has Joined as a Managing Director

Moelis & Company announced today that Edward Eppler has joined the firm as a Managing Director based in New York. Mr. Eppler, who has seventeen years of investment banking experience, will lead the firm’s coverage effort in the aerospace and defense sector.
Mr. Eppler joins from CIBC World Markets, where he most recently was the Head of the Aerospace and Defense Group. While at CIBC, Mr. Eppler successfully built leading market positions in several industry sectors, including aerospace and defense, communications technology, and industrial services. He initiated and managed the full spectrum of corporate finance transactions, including public and private equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings, leveraged buyouts, and a broad range of financial advisory services.
Prior to joining CIBC, Mr. Eppler was an officer at S.N. Phelps & Co., a Vice President at First Funding Corp. and before this, began his career at E.F. Hutton and Company, Inc. Mr. Eppler has an M.B.A. in finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a B.A. in history from Middlebury College.

Moelis & Company announced today that Mark Henkels has joined the firm as a Managing Director based in New York. Mr. Henkels, who has seventeen years of investment banking experience, will provide advisory services to general industrial companies, with an additional focus on companies in the metals and mining sector.
Mr. Henkels was previously with CIBC World Markets for six years, where he most recently was the Head of the Industrial Growth and Services Group. While at CIBC, Mr. Henkels built one of Wall Street’s leading industrial franchises serving senior executives in the metals, capital goods, chemicals, aerospace and defense, logistics and building products sectors.
Prior to joining CIBC, Mr. Henkels was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch, responsible for the global capital goods, building products, steel and aluminum sectors. Mr. Henkels’ previous positions include: Director in Salomon Brothers’ Select Industries Group; Vice President in Smith Barney’s Metals and Mining Group; and Senior Vice President, General Corporate Finance at Kemper Securities. Mr. Henkels has an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in Accounting from Creighton University.

Moelis & Company Holdings LLC announced today that Robert Crowley has joined the firm as a Managing Director based in Boston. Mr. Crowley, who has over thirteen years of investment banking experience, will manage the build-out of the Boston office and lead the firm’s coverage effort in the homebuilding sector upon receipt of Moelis & Company’s broker-dealer registration.
Mr. Crowley joins from UBS Investment Bank, where he was most recently the Global Head of High Yield Capital Markets. Prior to this role, he was a senior investment banker in the firm’s Global Industrial Group, where he led top franchises in the homebuilding and environmental services sectors.
Mr. Crowley began his investment banking career at Salomon Brothers and worked at BankBoston before joining UBS. Prior to becoming an investment banker, Mr. Crowley was an Institutional Investor ranked high yield research analyst covering the homebuilding/building materials sectors.

Moelis & Company Holdings LLC announced today that David Faris will join the firm in January as a Managing Director based in New York. Mr. Faris, who has over fifteen years of investment banking experience, will focus on building the firm’s coverage effort in the chemicals sector and will continue to provide high-quality advice to chemical and other general industrial companies.
Mr. Faris was previously with Credit Suisse for seven years. He was a Managing Director in the Chemicals Investment Banking Group and advised chemical companies on a wide variety of domestic and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, restructurings and leveraged buyouts.
Prior to Credit Suisse, Mr. Faris was with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette where he provided a broad range of investment banking services to chemical and other general industrial companies and also worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Mr. Faris joined DLJ from Schroders and prior to this, began his investment banking career in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Merrill Lynch.

Moelis & Company announced today that Ken Viellieu has joined the firm as a Managing Director and Head of its Chicago Office. Mr. Viellieu, who has almost 25 years of investment banking experience, will lead the firm’s expansion into Chicago and build-out of its Midwestern client coverage effort.
Mr. Viellieu was previously with Bear Stearns which he joined in 2001 as a Senior Managing Director and expanded the firm’s investment banking presence in the Chicago area as the Head of Midwest Investment Banking. While at Bear Stearns, Mr. Viellieu advised clients in a broad range of industries on the full spectrum of corporate finance matters, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged finance transactions, public and private equity offerings, and corporate restructurings. In particular, he worked closely with clients in the food and drug retailing, consumer products, industrial and transportation, financial services, healthcare, and media sectors. Prior to joining Bear Stearns, Mr. Viellieu was a Managing Director and Co-Head of Midwest Investment Banking at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and before this, a First Vice President at Drexel Burnham Lambert in Los Angeles.
