Moelis & Company today announced Hervé Malausséna will join the firm in August as a Managing Director. He will be based in the firm’s London office and will provide senior level advice to clients principally in the Telecommunications sector in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Mr. Malausséna has almost 20 years of investment banking experience and was most recently a Managing Director and Head of EMEA Telecommunications Investment Banking at Citigroup in London.
Mr. Malausséna worked at Citigroup and predecessors Salomon Smith Barney and Citicorp for 17 years, and in his most recent role was the senior banker responsible for the origination and execution of investment banking transactions for some of the largest telecommunications clients in the EMEA region. As the lead industry banker he provided industry and deal expertise for high-profile strategic M&A transactions and equity and debt offerings as well as structured and advised on leveraged buyouts. He also led the firm’s European Cable and Towers investment banking team and was responsible for related coverage of corporate clients and well as private equity firms.

Mr. Malausséna previously worked as Head of Latin America Telecommunications and Media Investment Banking at Citigroup in New York, where he worked with global and regional companies in the sector on structuring, managing and executing cross-border M&A transactions, as well as on advising on debt and equity capital markets issuance. Prior to that, he worked in the Leveraged Finance Group of Citigroup in London and also for Banque Indosuez in sales and trading in Paris and Tokyo.

Moelis & Company today announced Geoffrey Austin will join the firm in August as a Managing Director. He will be based in the firm’s London office and will provide senior level advice to clients principally in the Media sector in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Mr. Austin has over 20 years of investment banking experience and was most recently Managing Director and Global Co-Head of Media Investment Banking at Deutsche Bank.
Mr. Austin joined Deutsche Bank in 2000 and in his most recent role was responsible for a top-ranked global team focused on advising companies in the media sector as well as on related coverage of financial sponsors. He has worked on many of the largest and most transformational transactions in the media sector in recent years, including advising corporate and financial sponsor clients on mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, restructurings and debt and equity financings.

Moelis & Company today announced Edmund P. Chiang has joined the firm’s Capital Markets Group as a Managing Director based in New York. Mr. Chiang, who has been a Senior Advisor to the firm since April 2009, will continue to work with the Capital Markets Group headed by Christopher Ryan and is responsible for providing capital raising solutions to the firm’s clients. Mr. Chiang has over 20 years of investment banking experience and was most recently a Managing Director at Banc of America Securities, where he was Group Head of Private Equity Placements and a member of the Equity Capital Markets Operating Committee.
Moelis & Company launched its capital markets business in early 2009 and has since executed over 20 transactions, valued at more than $10 billion, including several transactions done as part of a broader acquisition or restructuring process.

Moelis & Company announced today that Stan Lai will join the firm as a Managing Director in its Capital Markets Group. Mr. Lai has over 14 years of investment banking experience and was most recently a Managing Director and Head of Private Placements at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He will be based at Moelis & Company’s headquarters in New York and will focus on providing capital raising advice and solutions to the firm’s clients.
At Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Mr. Lai oversaw a leading and diversified private capital advisory platform where he originated, structured and executed a wide variety of privately negotiated equity, mezzanine, structured securities and illiquid portfolio monetization transactions for public and private clients across all sectors. Prior to that, he worked within the private funds placement group at Merrill Lynch. Previously, Mr. Lai was an investment banker at Salomon Brothers and was a member of the restructuring practice at Deloitte & Touche.

Mr. Motulsky joins Moelis & Company with more than 25 years of investment banking experience, particularly working with large cap multinational consumer companies. Mr. Motulsky has spent the past 16 years at Lazard where he most recently served as Managing Director and Global Head of Consumer and Retail. Previously, Mr. Motulsky was a Partner at Tanner & Co., a merchant banking and mergers and acquisitions advisory firm, and worked at Salomon Brothers Inc.

Moelis & Company (the “Company”) (NYSE: MC), today announced that it has filed a shelf Registration Statement on Form S-3 with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The Registration Statement registers approximately 3.4 million shares of Class A common stock that may be issued over time in connection with the exchange of pre-IPO equity held by certain of the Company’s outside investors and employees. Approximately 40% of these shares will not be eligible for exchange until after the first quarter of 2016.
As previously disclosed in connection with the Company’s IPO, the Registration Statement registers the Class A common stock that may be issued upon exchange of an equal number of Class A partnership units of Moelis & Company Group LP, as well as the possible sale by certain stockholders of Class A common stock. The Registration Statement does not involve capital raising efforts by the Company or pre-IPO equity subject to the Managing Director four to six year lock-up. The issuance of the Class A common stock will not increase the Company’s fully exchangeable share count.
The Registration Statement relating to these securities has been filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective. He will join the Firm in March and will be based in New York.
Mr. Stulman has nearly 15 years of investment banking experience advising banks, credit card issuers, specialty finance companies, and commerce and technology companies on transactions related to major lending & payments programs and portfolios, particularly in the credit card sector. He joins from Greenhill & Co. where he was most recently a Managing Director and Co-Head of FinTech.

Moelis & Company (NYSE: MC), a leading global independent investment bank, today announced the appointment of Pablo de la Infiesta as a Managing Director and Head of the Private Funds Advisory (PFA) group in EMEA. He will join the Firm’s London office in October and will provide capital raising, secondary and other advisory services to private fund sponsors and limited partners globally.
Mr. de la Infiesta has over 20 years of private equity fund placement, secondary advisory, and investment banking experience. He joins Moelis & Company after 11 years at Lazard where he was most recently a Managing Director and European Head of the Private Capital Advisory group, focusing on fund placement and secondary advisory. Prior to Lazard, he was a Principal at Campbell Lutyens & Co in London.

Moelis & Company (NYSE: MC), a leading global independent investment bank, today announced the appointments of Steven Halperin and Angus Whelchel as Managing Directors to expand and enhance the Firm’s capital markets capabilities. Based in the New York office, Mr. Halperin joins the Firm on July 13 and Mr. Whelchel on August 4.
The additions of Mr. Halperin as Head of Equity Public Markets and Mr. Whelchel as Head of Private Capital Markets enhance the Firm’s ability to provide the full suite of capital solutions to clients. Together they will broaden and deepen the Firm’s public and private market origination and distribution capabilities and lead an expanded structured capital markets effort, further strengthening the existing platform. Mr. Halperin and Mr. Whelchel will join Moelis & Company’s globally connected network and work closely with the Firm’s sector, M&A and restructuring bankers to structure and execute innovative financing solutions and provide product agnostic advice to clients around the globe.

Mr. Halperin joins Moelis from Barclays in New York and London, having spent 21 years in the industry, most recently as Americas Head of Equity-Linked & Hybrid Solutions. Prior to that role, he was Co-Head of EMEA Equity Capital Markets after leading EMEA Equity-Linked Origination. Mr. Halperin began his career at Lehman Brothers having worked in various capital markets roles.
Mr. Whelchel joins from Barclays, having been based in New York and London, most recently as Global Head of Private Capital Markets. He has more than 20 years of experience in the industry having worked at GE Capital and Lehman Brothers. He has helped clients raise over $200 billion of private capital globally across all industries and brings an expansive network of deep relationships with investors in the private capital markets.
