Moelis & Company, the global independent investment bank, today announced the appointment of Christopher Young as a Managing Director responsible for providing strategic advice to insurance clients globally. His appointment strengthens the Firm’s global insurance sector team which already includes John Sipp and Abzal Ayubeally in New York and Caroline Silver in London.

With more than 25 years of investment banking experience, Mr. Young joins Moelis & Company from UBS Securities LLC where he was a Managing Director and senior relationship manager in insurance investment banking responsible for origination and execution of mergers and acquisitions and equity and debt financial solutions products. Before joining UBS, Mr. Young worked at Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. in New York and previously at JP Morgan Securities Inc. in New York and London. In recent years he has worked on some of the largest public insurance sector transactions. In his new role, Mr. Young is based at Moelis & Company’s headquarters in New York.

Appointment strengthens Moelis & Company’s Houston team

Moelis & Company, the global independent investment bank, today announced the appointment of Bryan Lastrapes as a Managing Director to lead the Firm’s Acquisitions & Divestitures (A&D) business and provide strategic advice to oil and gas clients.

Mr. Lastrapes joins Moelis & Company after a distinguished 30 year career at Shell having recently headed Business Development where he was responsible for the growth of the onshore North America portfolio including all exploration, acquisitions and joint ventures. Previously, he was Business Development Manager for US Gas New Ventures, and before that he led various International Business Development and Asset Management activities across Central Asia, Brazil and West Africa.

Moelis & Company announced today that Edward Eppler has joined the firm as a Managing Director based in New York. Mr. Eppler, who has seventeen years of investment banking experience, will lead the firm’s coverage effort in the aerospace and defense sector.

Mr. Eppler joins from CIBC World Markets, where he most recently was the Head of the Aerospace and Defense Group. While at CIBC, Mr. Eppler successfully built leading market positions in several industry sectors, including aerospace and defense, communications technology, and industrial services. He initiated and managed the full spectrum of corporate finance transactions, including public and private equity and debt financings, mergers and acquisitions, financial restructurings, leveraged buyouts, and a broad range of financial advisory services.

Prior to joining CIBC, Mr. Eppler was an officer at S.N. Phelps & Co., a Vice President at First Funding Corp. and before this, began his career at E.F. Hutton and Company, Inc. Mr. Eppler has an M.B.A. in finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a B.A. in history from Middlebury College.

Moelis & Company (NYSE: MC), a leading global independent investment bank, today announced the appointment of Brian Jinks as a Managing Director providing financial and strategic advice to midstream oil and gas companies and Master Limited Partnerships (MLPs). He will join the Firm in July and will be based in Houston.

With over 16 years of investment banking experience advising companies in the midstream and MLP sector, Mr. Jinks will join Moelis & Company from Deutsche Bank where he most recently served as a Managing Director responsible for midstream and MLP coverage. His experience includes origination and execution of a full spectrum of transactions for companies in the sector, including strategic advisory, M&A, and capital raises. Prior to Deutsche Bank, he spent seven years at Lazard and Credit Suisse as a member of their respective Energy Investment Banking teams.

Moelis & Company, the New York-based investment bank, today announced the establishment of a new office in Sydney, Australia, with the hire of a five-person team to cover the Australian and Asian markets.  Chris Wyke will join the firm as a Managing Director and Julian Biggins has joined the firm as a Senior Vice President, along with three other investment banking professionals.  The Sydney office will be Moelis & Company’s sixth office globally and follows the establishment of a London office in 2008.

“The addition of the team in Sydney underscores our continued commitment to service our clients globally and have a presence in the markets in which they operate,” said Ken Moelis, Chief Executive Officer of Moelis & Company.  “We continue to add top talent to our firm and experienced professionals like Chris and Julian will greatly complement our global team in providing the best expertise and solutions to our clients.  The launch of our Australian office is an important first step towards growing our coverage of the key Asia-Pacific region.”

Mr. Wyke will join the firm in September from J.P. Morgan.  He has over a decade of experience in investment banking and was most recently a member of J.P. Morgan’s investment banking team in Sydney, where he originated and executed a wide range of domestic and international transactions. In his role he provided capital structure, restructuring and strategic and transaction advisory services to real estate trusts, fund managers and diversified property group clients in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to J.P. Morgan, he was with UBS in London, Singapore and Sydney covering real estate clients across Europe, Asia and Australia respectively.

Mr. Biggins has nearly a decade of investment banking experience and was most recently a member of J.P. Morgan’s investment banking team, where he focused on providing capital structure and transaction advisory services to real estate companies and fund management clients in the Asia-Pacific region. He also led advisory roles to Australian companies acquiring real estate businesses in the U.S., U.K., Continental Europe, Japan and China. Previously he was with UBS’ real estate research team where he provided strategic, quantitative and qualitative studies to Australian and international institutional clients.

Additionally, Ben Wong will join the firm as a Vice President in September from J.P. Morgan and Phil Newman and Paul Rathborne have joined the firm as Associates.

Moelis & Company announced today that Kevin Scheetz has joined the firm as a Managing Director in Technology. Mr. Scheetz, who has 12 years of investment banking experience, will expand the firm’s coverage of the technology sector in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a particular focus on hardware, semiconductors and components clients.

Mr. Scheetz was most recently Head of the Semiconductors and Electronics Investment Banking franchise at Merrill Lynch. Moelis & Company announced today that Mark Henkels has joined the firm as a Managing Director based in New York. Mr. Henkels, who has seventeen years of investment banking experience, will provide advisory services to general industrial companies, with an additional focus on companies in the metals and mining sector.

Mr. Henkels was previously with CIBC World Markets for six years, where he most recently was the Head of the Industrial Growth and Services Group. While at CIBC, Mr. Henkels built one of Wall Street’s leading industrial franchises serving senior executives in the metals, capital goods, chemicals, aerospace and defense, logistics and building products sectors.

Prior to joining CIBC, Mr. Henkels was a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch, responsible for the global capital goods, building products, steel and aluminum sectors. Los Angeles and New York, October 07, 2007

Moelis & Company Holdings LLC announced today that David Faris will join the firm in January as a Managing Director based in New York. Mr. Faris, who has over fifteen years of investment banking experience, will focus on building the firm’s coverage effort in the chemicals sector and will continue to provide high-quality advice to chemical and other general industrial companies.

Mr. Faris was previously with Credit Suisse for seven years. He was a Managing Director in the Chemicals Investment Banking Group and advised chemical companies on a wide variety of domestic and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, restructurings and leveraged buyouts.

Prior to Credit Suisse, Mr. Faris was with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette where he provided a broad range of investment banking services to chemical and other general industrial companies and also worked in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group. Mr. Faris joined DLJ from Schroders and prior to this, began his investment banking career in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group at Merrill Lynch.

Moelis & Company Holdings LLC announced today that Robert Crowley has joined the firm as a Managing Director based in Boston. Mr. Crowley, who has over thirteen years of investment banking experience, will manage the build-out of the Boston office and lead the firm’s coverage effort in the homebuilding sector upon receipt of Moelis & Company’s broker-dealer registration.

Mr. Crowley joins from UBS Investment Bank, where he was most recently the Global Head of High Yield Capital Markets. Prior to this role, he was a senior investment banker in the firm’s Global Industrial Group, where he led top franchises in the homebuilding and environmental services sectors.

Mr. Crowley began his investment banking career at Salomon Brothers and worked at BankBoston before joining UBS. Prior to becoming an investment banker, Mr. Crowley was an Institutional Investor ranked high yield research analyst covering the homebuilding/building materials sectors.

Moelis & Company today announced Joseph W. Simon has joined the firm as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Simon will be responsible for all finance and accounting matters and will be based in the firm’s headquarters in New York. He has over 25 years of experience as a senior manager of financial controls, operations and strategy and has particular experience with financial services firms.

Mr. Simon most recently served as CFO of Financial Security Assurance (“FSA”) for seven years. He was a member of the Executive Management Committee and re-engineered FSA’s treasury and accounting areas to enhance the firm’s financial planning and analysis, allocation of capital and transparency of financial reporting. In addition, he led several financing transactions for the firm.

“Joe is an accomplished finance and accounting executive with significant strategy and operations experience,” said Ken Moelis, Chief Executive Officer of Moelis & Company. “His entrepreneurial approach and commitment to teamwork are a natural fit with our business and culture. Before joining Cantor Fitzgerald in 1993, Mr. Simon was a Principal and Vice President of Fixed Income Product Control at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Simon has also served as CFO of IntraLinks and TENTV.com. Mr. Simon began his career at Price Waterhouse and is a certified public accountant.
