Ashish Ajmera
Vice President

Ashish Ajmera is a Vice President at Moelis & Company. Mr. Ajmera has been in the investment banking industry for over five years, most recently at Banc of America Securities. Mr. Ajmera has extensive experience with advisory and financing assignments across a broad spectrum of industries, including media, telecommunications and gaming. 

Mr. Ajmera holds a B.A. in Economics and Molecular Cell Biology from The University of California at Berkeley and an M.B.A. from The Stern School of Business at NYU.

Travis Borden
Vice President

Travis Borden is a Vice President at Moelis & Company. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mr. Borden spent six years in the Investment Banking Department at UBS Investment Bank, most recently in the Financial Sponsors and Leveraged Finance Group.  Mr. Borden has executed numerous M&A, equity and leveraged finance transactions across a broad spectrum of industries over the course of his career.  Mr. Borden has extensive experience with advisory and financing assignments associated with leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations. 

Mr. Borden graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Finance and Philosophy from Boston College.

Sara Buckley
Vice President

Sara Buckley is a Vice President at Moelis & Company. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Ms. Buckley spent six years in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs, most recently in the Equity Capital Markets Consumer and Retail Group. Ms. Buckley has executed numerous M&A, equity and leveraged finance transactions in the consumer and retail sectors.

Ms. Buckley graduated from Smith College with an A.B. in Economics and also holds an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.

Geoff DeMartino
Vice President

Geoff DeMartino is a Vice President at Moelis & Company. Mr. DeMartino has been in the investment banking industry for almost 10 years, most recently at Bear Stearns. Mr. DeMartino has extensive experience with advisory and financing assignments across a broad spectrum of industries, including retail, consumer products, industrial and media.

Mr. DeMartino holds a B.A. in Economics from Northwestern University.

Carlo De Girolamo
Vice President

Carlo De Girolamo is a Vice President at Moelis & Company. Mr. De Girolamo has over five years of transaction experience, most recently as a Director in the Industrial Growth and Services Group at CIBC World Markets where he executed a number of cross border advisory and financing assignments in the chemicals, metals, mining, clean technology, aerospace and general industrial sectors. Mr. De Girolamo began his investment banking career as an Associate at Haywood Securities Inc. where he focused on capital raising and advisory assignments in the telecoms, technology and general industrial sectors. Prior to joining Haywood, Mr. De Girolamo was a licensed C.P.A. with PricewaterhouseCoopers in their International Tax Services Group. 

Mr. De Girolamo holds a B.B.A. from The Schulich School of Business at York University and an M.B.A. from The Kenan-Flagler Business School at The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

James Johnston
Director of Private Equity

Jim Johnston is a Director of the Private Equity Business of Moelis & Company.  Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mr. Johnston was at Goldman Sachs, most recently as a Vice President in the Financial Sponsors Group.  Mr. Johnston has extensive experience in mergers and financing across a broad spectrum of industries, including industrial, consumer and technology.  Prior to Goldman Sachs, Mr. Johnston was a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Johnston has a B.S. in Commerce with Distinction from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

Adam Keil
Vice President

Adam Keil is a Vice President at Moelis & Company. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mr. Keil spent almost eight years in the Recapitalization and Restructuring Group at Jefferies & Company. Mr. Keil has extensive experience advising debtors, creditors and equity holders on a wide variety of restructuring transactions across a broad range of industries including technology, media and telecommunications, real estate, retail and general industrials.

Mr. Keil graduated with a B.S. in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Joel Killion
Director of Private Equity

Joel Killion is a Director of the Private Equity Business of Moelis & Company. Mr. Killion has over eight years of investment experience, having invested in numerous middle-market leveraged buyouts and growth equity transactions, both in the U.S. and internationally. Mr. Killion has invested across a range of industries, with a particular focus in the consumer, retail and industrial sectors. Mr. Killion's experience includes transactions involving healthy companies, distressed companies and companies in both special situations and restructuring situations. Mr. Killion was previously with Sun Capital Partners where he worked both in the U.S. and in London. Prior to joining Sun Capital, he was with Catterton Partners. He began his career as an investment banking analyst at Lehman Brothers and Legg Mason.

Mr. Killion has a B. S. in Economics from Pennsylvania State University, and an M.B.A. from the Columbia Business School.

Nicholas Kournetas
Vice President

Nicholas Kournetas is a Vice President at Moelis & Company. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mr. Kournetas spent almost four years in the Global Industrials and Services group of Credit Suisse's investment bank. Mr. Kournetas has executed numerous M&A, equity and leveraged finance transactions across a broad spectrum of industries over the course of his career. Mr. Kournetas has extensive experience with advisory and financing assignments associated with leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations.

Mr. Kournetas graduated from the University of Toronto with B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc. degrees in materials engineering. He also holds an M.B.A. from New York University.

Lawrence Kwon
Vice President

Larry Kwon is a Vice President at Moelis & Company. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Mr. Kwon was a Vice President in the Recapitalization and Restructuring Group at Jefferies & Company, where he executed numerous M&A and financing transactions across a broad range of industries including consumer, real estate, telecommunications and general industrial sectors. Mr. Kwon has extensive experience advising clients in restructuring transactions ranging from bank waivers and amendments and consent solicitations to in-court proceedings. Prior to Jefferies & Company, Mr. Kwon was a Management Consultant in Accenture's Supply Chain and Operations practice.

Mr. Kwon holds a B.A. in Economics and History from Tufts University.

Deborah Marcus
Vice President

Deborah Marcus is a Vice President and Counsel of Moelis & Company. Ms. Marcus has over 10 years of legal and compliance experience in the financial services industry, most recently at JPMorgan where she held the position of Compliance Manager and Assistant General Counsel, responsible for the development and maintenance of Compliance policies and procedures for the Investment Bank. Prior to joining JPMorgan, Ms. Marcus was a Corporate Finance Associate at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.

Ms. Marcus holds a B.S. from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and received a J.D. from Fordham Law School.

Erem Rashid
Vice President

Erem Rashid is a Vice President at Moelis & Company. Ms. Rashid has over five years of transaction experience, most recently as a Director in the Industrial Growth and Services Group at CIBC World Markets, where she executed numerous M&A, equity and leveraged finance transactions in the metals, mining and general industrials sectors. Ms. Rashid began her investment banking career in the Financial Institutions Group at Lazard Freres. Prior to that Ms. Rashid worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their Transaction Services Group.

Ms. Rashid holds a B.S. in Finance from The Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California and a Masters in Accounting from The Leventhal School of Accounting at the University of Southern California.

Silvia Shiliashka
Vice President

Silvia Shiliashka is a Vice President at Moelis & Company. Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Ms. Shiliashka spent seven years at UBS Investment Bank, most recently as a Director in the High Yield and Loan Capital Markets Group within the Fixed Income Department, where she covered a broad spectrum of industries, including consumer products, retail, real estate, technology, business services and general industrial sectors. Ms. Shiliashka has extensive experience advising clients on M&A, capital raising and corporate restructuring transactions, as well as structuring and executing principal investments, with a particular focus on the residential real estate sector. Ms. Shiliashka began her investment banking career in the Global Industrial Group at UBS, where she executed numerous equity, leveraged finance and M&A transactions.

Ms. Shiliashka graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Economics and a Certificate in Political Economy from Princeton University.

Thomas M. Wonica
Vice President

Tom Wonica is a Vice President and the Director of Information Technology at Moelis & Company. Mr. Wonica has over 12 years of corporate information technology experience and was most recently at UBS where he held positions as Global Head of Application and Customer Support for Investment Banking IT and Regional Head of Distribution Technology for Equities IT. Mr. Wonica began his information technology career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse. At Credit Suisse Mr. Wonica was responsible for the integration of the Investment Banking Division support functions, after which he assumed management.

Mr. Wonica holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Georgetown University.
