James Palmisciano
Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager

Mr. Palmisciano serves as Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager and chairs Gracie’s management committee.  Prior to joining Gracie in 2005, Mr. Palmisciano was a Managing Director and Co-Head of CLCM, a proprietary, multi-strategy credit fund within Calyon.  Prior to joining Calyon in 2003, Mr. Palmisciano was a Director with Deutsche Bank in New York, where he was a top-ranked credit derivative strategist and sell-side research analyst covering REITs and real estate.  He was also responsible for fundamental research for Deutsche Bank’s proprietary credit trading operation and managed a joint venture between the credit derivative and commercial mortgage backed securities groups. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 1999, Mr. Palmisciano spent nine years as an Analyst covering the financial sector at Moody’s Investors Service, the Federal Reserve Bank of NY and the FDIC.  Mr. Palmisciano serves as a board member of County Harvest, Inc., a non-profit hunger relief organization. He received an M.B.A. with honors from Fordham University and a B.S. in Finance from the State University of New York at Buffalo.​

Manbir Singh
Portfolio Manager

Mr. Singh serves as Portfolio Manager and member of Gracie’s management committee.  Prior to joining Gracie in 2005, Mr. Singh was a Managing Director and Global Head of Credit and Equity Proprietary Trading at Calyon. Prior to its merger with Calyon, Mr. Singh was the Global Head of Credit Trading at Credit Lyonnais from 2001 to 2004. From 1993 to 2000, he was Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at New World Investments Management, L.P., an emerging markets hedge fund.  Mr. Singh holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.S. from the University of Alberta.

Michael Robertson
Portfolio Manager

Mr. Robertson serves as Portfolio Manager and member of Gracie’s management committee.  Prior to joining Gracie in 2005, Mr. Robertson was a Managing Director at Calyon/CLCM between 2003 to 2005.  Prior to Calyon/CLCM, he was an Institutional Investor ranked sell-side and desk analyst at UBS from 2000 to 2003, an industrial analyst at Paine Webber from 1997 to 2000 and an industrial analyst at Deutsche Bank from 1995 to 1999.  Previously, Mr. Robertson worked as an analyst at Kidder Peabody and at Standard & Poors.  Mr. Robertson received an M.B.A. from Columbia University and a B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas.​

Alex Koundourakis
Head Trader

Mr. Koundourakis serves as Head Trader and member of Gracie’s management committee.  Prior to joining Gracie in 2005, Mr. Koundourakis was a Managing Director, Founding Member and Execution Trader at Calyon/CLCM between 2002 and 2005.  Prior to Calyon/CLCM, he was a Vice President for Integrated Credit Sales at Merrill Lynch from 2001 to 2002.  Previously, Mr. Koundourakis was a Senior Broker and Global Head of the Credit Derivative Business at Cantor Fitzgerald.  He received a B.A. in Political Science from Western Maryland College.​

Daniel L. Nir
Founder

Mr. Nir founded Gracie in 1998 and launched the Gracie Credit funds in 2004.  Between 1985 and 1997, Mr. Nir was a general partner of and investment analyst for Gotham Capital, a private investment firm managing pooled investment vehicles and other accounts.  Previously, Mr. Nir was a member of the Manufacturers Hanover Venture Capital Team.  Mr. Nir is President and Co-Founder of the Ira Sohn Conference Foundation, currently in its 17th year, and Chairman of the Board of the Upper West Side Success Academy​, a Manhattan-based charter school. Mr. Nir received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
